Your Action Plan
What: Aim for a light, consistent grip pressure (a 4 or 5 out of 10) throughout your swing to improve rotation and maximize clubhead speed.
Why: Tight grip pressure restricts turn, creates tension, and eliminates the free flow of speed, resulting in inconsistent shots.
How to Achieve 4 or 5:
Maintain this lighter pressure throughout your entire swing.
The Weight Test: Hold the club lightly above the ground. Your grip is correct if the clubhead feels heavy. (Gripping too tightly makes the clubhead feel light.)
The Drill:
Grip Tightly (10/10): Take practice swings to feel restricted turning and movement.
Grip Lightly (4/5): Take practice swings to feel the easy turn and increased clubhead speed.
