9 Fun Golf Practice Games

Video course with nine practice drills and games from Cindy Miller to help you get the most benefit (and fun!) from your next session on the range.

Miss it Good Practice Game

One thing I’ve learned is ‘She who misses it best without getting ticked off, wins’. This fun and challenging game narrows the target goal so that even when you miss it, you’ll still be fine.

Focus and Awareness Practice Drill

Many people are not aware of they are doing during the swing. This practice drill will help you become present, aware, and slow.

Nine Shapes Practice Drill

This drill helps you practice hitting the ball straight, left, and right. But that’s not all … to play good golf you also need to be able to hit it low, medium and high – 3 x 3 = 9 shapes.

Match Play Make Believe

In this practice drill, you have 9 shots, 9 targets, and 9 different clubs. Sounds straightforward? But you’ve got to call out the shot before you hit it. +1 if you make it, -1 if you miss.

Nine Holes on the Practice Range

How can you play holes on the range? In your imagination. You think up 3 x par 3s, 3 x par 4s, and 3 x par 5s and create your own fairways and greens.

30-60-90 Practice

In this drill you’re going to hit three balls at 30%, three more at 60%, and the final three at 90%.

Random Practice Drill

Hit a different shot every time you hit. We do this because it simulates playing on the course.

The Tiger Drill

Take one shot with your shortest iron … then hit all the rest of your hybrids and irons the same distance. It’s called the Tiger Drill because it’s Tiger’s favorite drill.

Practice Your Pre-Shot Routine on the Range

Watch my Women’s Golf course on the pre-shot routine (coming soon), and then come back to see how to reinforce it through practice..

Editors notes: Phase one golfers are beginners, phase two are intermediate to regular golfers, and phase three are advanced to expert players. We received some videos courtesy of Cindy Miller and PhaseGolf, a golf business that was planning to develop the practice manual that Cindy mentions a couple of times in the videos. Unfortunately, the practice manual never happened because shortly after filming PhaseGolf went out of business. I didn’t want Cindy’s excellent videos to not be used.
