Your Action Plan
What: Your goal is to train your body to start the downswing using your lower body, known as proper swing sequencing.
Why: Using only your arms is inefficient and robs you of power. Initiating the downswing with your legs and hips allows you to use your entire body to generate speed.
How:
- Start with Feet Together: Address the ball with your feet touching.
- Take the Club Back: Begin your backswing normally.
- Step Forward: At the top of your backswing, step forward with your lead foot (front foot) to your normal stance width.
- Swing: Immediately swing through the ball.
- Feel the Initiation: This exaggerated movement forces you to feel your lower body stepping and initiating the downswing before your arms follow.
