Hi Sarah, thank you so much for letting us feature your golf story. Where’s your home course?
I play at Door Creek Golf Course in the Ladies League and my husband Don and I are members at The Meadows of Six Mile Creek in Waunakee, Wisconsin. We usually play there together once a week and I play 3 days a week on average when it’s warm. I’m still working full time but look forward to playing much more next year when I retire.
What made you start playing?
I started at age 51 when my friend asked me to take golf lessons with her. Don has played since he was a teenager but I wouldn’t allow him to teach me. I also took more lessons at GOLFTECH.
What do you love about golf?
I love that it’s such a challenging game and that is mostly mental but also physical. I love getting outside, being with friends and laughing over bad shots!
Great! No shortage of laughs (and tears) in golf! Where’s your favorite course?
My favorite course in the world is Plum Lake Golf Club in Northern Wisconsin. It’s a 9 hole course. It’s cold up there so it’s only open in the summer and early fall. It’s one of the oldest courses in Wisconsin and opened in 1912 and the clubhouse still has spike holes in the floor, so cool! Beautiful views of wildlife as well.
What are the tips or lesson on womensgolf.com or in the Facebook lessons group that have worked well for you?
I’m getting a lot of help from the chipping lessons and all of Christina Ricci’s videos are really excellent!
Fabulous! Thank you Sarah for letting me share your golf story with our readers from all over the world.
