Your Action Plan
What: Your goal is to improve your balance throughout the swing to prevent falling off your shots and to improve your overall ball striking.
Why: Proper balance is fundamental to a consistent golf swing. Falling forward, backward, or to either side indicates a loss of balance and will cause poor contact and accuracy.
How:
- Find a Balanced Setup: At address, feel the pressure balanced between your heels and toes, as well as your right and left feet.
- Shift Your Weight Correctly: In the backswing, feel the pressure move from the toes to the heel of your trail foot. On the downswing, feel the pressure move to the heel of your lead foot.
- Maintain Your Center: Work on turning your body around a stable center point instead of swaying side to side.
- Practice with Feet Together: For a great drill, practice making swings with your feet together to train your body to maintain a stable center of gravity.
