Your Action Plan
What: Your goal is to eliminate “handle dragging” and learn to control your putting stroke using the proper rocking motion of your shoulders.
Why: Guiding the putter with your hands and handle leads to inconsistent impact and direction. Using your shoulders to power the stroke ensures a smoother, more repeatable pendulum motion.
How:
- Set Up the Drill: Grab an alignment stick.
- Placement: Place one end of the stick against the back of your putter head and the other end resting against the left side of your chest (just left of center).
- Practice the Stroke: Make practice strokes focusing on keeping the putter shaft and the alignment stick together at all times.
- Feel the Motion: The feeling you want is your shoulders rocking to power the movement, keeping your hands and wrists quiet.
