A Better Way to Hit a Soft High Chip

Struggling with your short game? Erika Larkin shows the alternative to spinning your clubface face open to your target. There’s a better way to hit a soft high chip shot.

I see this way too often. People spin the face open, lean the handle forward. There’s a better way to hit a soft high chip shot.

If you’re trying to hit a soft little chip or pitch, lean the handle back. Move your ball position up and keep the face relatively square to the target while your body opens.

So instead of spinning the face open, lean the handle back, move your body over and then your ball will start nice and high right on the target line.
