Swing Under a String Drill

Here's a great drill from Maria Palazola to check that your swing path isn't causing pulls and push shots or slices and hooks.

The Under a String Drill helps you groove your golf swing on takeaway and after impact to make sure you are not coming back too far inside or even over the top.

Summary:

  • Tie a piece of string about 5 feet long to two tees, one at each end.
  • Set up with your ball in the middle of the string and underneath the string.
  • When you swing up to the top of the swing and back down to the ball, make sure that your club head stays inside the swing (towards your body) during the entire swing.
  • If you see the club head getting on the outside of the string you will hit it and know that you are getting off plane.
