Master Your Takeaway for a Powerful, Consistent Swing

Unlock a powerful, consistent swing from the start! Christina Ricci teaches the ideal takeaway: stabilize your lower body, keep the clubhead wide, and avoid rushing. This precise sequence sets your swing on plane for superior contact.

Your Action Plan

Why: Build a solid foundation for your swing, leading to better stability, a square clubface, and consistent contact.
What: A controlled takeaway drill focusing on extension, lower body stability, and sequential hinging.
How:
1. Keep it Wide: Feel the clubhead as the furthest point from your body during the initial takeaway.

2. Quiet Lower Body: Keep your legs “rock solid” and press into the ground; avoid overactive hip rotation initially.

3. Torso: Turn your torso as one piece, ensuring your lead shoulder moves with the club.

4. Sequential Hinge: Once the club is parallel to the ground, initiate the vertical (lead arm) hinge, then complete your turn, allowing the trail hand hinge to kick in at the top.

5. Practice Slow: Focus on this precise sequence to establish a solid foundation for your entire swing.
