Your Action Plan
What: Your goal is to eliminate lower body and head movement on short putts to improve consistency and confidence, especially under pressure.
Why: Any movement of the lower body or head during the stroke makes it extremely difficult to return the putter face squarely to the ball. Turning the toes in acts as a physical restriction.
How: The Toe-In Drill (Arnold Palmer Stance)
- Build Your Setup: Take your normal putting stance and routine.
- Turn Toes In: Just before you take the putter back, turn both of your toes slightly inward.
- Restrict Motion: This small adjustment will restrict your lower body and keep your feet, legs, and hips very still through the stroke.
- Promote Stillness: The restriction in your lower body will also help keep your head still, allowing your shoulders to move the putter like a pendulum for a clean strike.
This technique makes a huge difference in staying stable when you need to make a crucial pressure putt.
