Are Your Hands Deep Enough?

LPGA Instructor and author Christina Ricci shows how improving your hand depth will help you with avoiding slices and pull shots off the tee.

In Summary:

Check your setup: Many players set up with open shoulders, leading to shallow hand paths and poor shots.

Square up your chest: Position your chest slightly closed behind the club head to facilitate a deeper backswing.

Importance of rotation: Squaring the setup aids in better rotation and aligns hands with the trail shoulder.
Avoid arm-driven backswing: Don’t let arms dominate; keep arm structure aligned with the torso to prevent casting.

Ideal hand position: Hands should be in front of the torso during the backswing, not passing it.
Key tip: Setup and hand-torso alignment crucial for consistent and effective golf swings.
