Alison Curdt shows you how to avoid trouble when chipping off a tight lies to a tight pin? Activate more of the bounce of your club and see those chips get close!

Here’s a helpful tip when chipping to tight pins. Specifically to an elevated green, and against the grain, the leading edge of a wedge can be death. Try using more of the bounce with these two simple setup tricks.

Definitions: A ‘tight pin’ is where the hole is cut very close to the edge of the green or to a hazard like a bunker or water with not much green to run the ball along the ground. A ‘tight lie’ is a term used in golf to describe a ball on a hard surface with very little grass to create space between the ball and the ground.
