Charlotte Hazelwood from Mansfield UK is our latest featured junior. Charlotte damaged ligaments in her wrist in February and has not been able to play golf all this year. Fortunately, she is now on her way back to full fitness and will soon be preparing for the up and coming 2016 season.
Charlotte, you already have a really impressive record and your golf handicap has been improving really quickly. When did you start playing?
My dad first took me to the driving range with him when I was 8 years old and I loved it straight away. Then I started playing on a small pitch and putt in Mansfield which is near Nottingham in England.
Have you got a home course?
Yes, I am now a member at Notts ladies golf club (Hollinwell). I love Hollinwell because it is a superb course and is very challenging.
We looked at Hollinwell online, it really is a spectacular course. No wonder you are so happy playing there. What are the things you love most about golf?
I love every aspect of the game, either practice or competing against others, and I really love the fact that I can test myself against other players and on different courses. Best of all is the buzz you get from hitting a great shot.
Have you got a coach who is helping you with your game?
Yes, I have lessons with Darren Moule at riverbank driving range in Sutton in Ashfield, Darren has been my coach right from the beginning and is very supportive of my game. He often takes me for practice rounds and even attends some of the competitions I enter.
