Reading the green expertly can be a challenge for new and experienced golfers. LPGA Instructor Aimee Cho shows her step by step process for assessing the slope and speed of her putts.

Steps to Reading the Green

A good shortcut is to ask for local knowledge first.
Walking up to the green, consider the big picture.
Speed is priority number one so think carefully about the likely pace of the putt.
Be sure to go to the other side of the green and double-check.
Visualize. Draw it in your mind.
Your decisions are made. Commit to the putt.
